Sakura Revolution to End Service on June 30, 2021

On April 22, the official website for Sakura Revolution: Maidens In Bloom (Sakura Kakumei: Hanasaku Otome-tachi) announced that the title will end service on June 30, 2021, at 13:00 JST (6/30/2021 at 12:00AM EDT; 6/29/2021 at 9:00PM PDT). Sales of Spirit Crystals officially ceased on April 22, at 13:00 JST.

Customers will be able to request refunds starting June 30, at 17:00 JST.

The announcement adds that Houshou Marine and Fubuki Shirakami, who were planned for inclusion in the game after a strong pre-registration campaign, will no longer be implemented. However, they will still be appointed as official characters, according to the page.

According to the announcement, the team is looking into allowing players who installed the app to continue playing a “Limited Functionality Version” of the game after the main service ends. Details on the app will be announced at a later date, both via the official website and the Sakura Revolution app.

Service for Sakura Revolution: Maidens in Bloom will end on June 30, 2021 (Wednesday).

Since beginning service, we’ve made diligent efforts to improve our offerings [for players], such as planning and managing events and improving the overall gameplay sy stem. We’d like to offer our sincere apologies as, after much consideration, we have decided to discontinue the service.

We’d like to express our deepest thanks to all members of the Sakura Revolution: Maidens in Bloom team for their support.

The schedule until the end of services is as follows:

  • 4/22/2021 (Thursday) at 13:00: Cease purchase of all Spirit Crystals
  • 6/30/2021 (Wednesday) at 13:00: End of Service
  • 6/30/2021 (Wednesday) at 17:00: (Planned) Start Accepting Refund Requests

About Sakura Revolution

Sakura Revolution was originally announced via two dueling projects: Sega’s Project B.L.A.C.K. and Delightworks’ Nippon Dakkan, before both were revealed to be one and the same during a live streaming event on September 2, 2020. The title officially launched on December 15, 2020 at 15:00 JST, when it was added to Apple’s iOS and Google’s Play stores. The initial release included the first two main story chapters, which took players through Aogashima and the Kyushu and Chugoku regions. Chapter 3 officially debuted on January 12, 2021, taking Shino and the New Imperial Combat Revue to the Shikoku region. The game’s fourth chapter launched on April 22, 2021, and brings the team to the Kinki region.

Analytics service App Annie reports that the game was the #2 most downloaded title in Japan’s iOS App Store and the top downloaded game on the Google Play store for December 2020.

On December 22, 2020, Sega Sammy announced that the title had reached 500,000 downloads. On January 21, 2021, Sega announced that the title crossed one million downloads. On February 22, 2021, Sega announced that Sakura Revolution officially crossed 1.5 million downloads.
