On August 2, the official Twitter account for the Sega Ikebukuro GIGO game center announced that they will close their doors on September 20. According to the announcement, the location’s lease is expiring, and the building will be renewed.

Sega Ikebukuro GIGO first opened its doors in 1993. In 1998, the location saw the opening of the Sakura Cafe and Taisho Romando: a Sakura Wars themed cafe and merchandise store. Both the cafe and Taisho Romando would remain fixtures of the game center until March 2008, when both attractions closed their doors.
